Max-kun's Otherworld Adventures — Ep.10: The Spirit and the Way Home

Max-kun's Otherworld Adventures — Ep.10: The Spirit and the Way Home

Alone in the memory-world, Max notices a familiar melody drifting toward him from somewhere -- a game-like tune that somehow feels nostalgic, even though he's sure he's never heard it before.

The Game-Music Spirit appears, and she's genuinely surprised. 'Memories from before usually vanish when someone arrives here,' she says, studying him with wide eyes. 'But yours are still intact.' Max blinks. He'd never thought about it that way. In this world of data and memory, a human who remembers is something rare.

Then she says it: 'That melody -- it's been drifting from the direction you came from.' Max's eyes go wide. That direction -- it's the way home. He spins around to ask more, but the Spirit is already floating away, humming softly, trailing a stream of musical notes, with a small knowing smile. Just like that, gone. The mystery remains, unanswered. But a nearby game machine lights up with a cheerful glow -- and Max pivots and runs straight for it. 'I'll figure out home later!'
