The Shopkeeper’s Status Scree
Hello again—I'm the shopkeeper.
Earlier, I may have talked a little too grandly about our store’s philosophy. But here, I’d like to show you something more personal: a little peek into who I really am.
Think of it as... my own “status screen.”
Favorite Drink:
Japanese green tea (sencha) and Chinese tea.
I do enjoy coffee, but there’s something special about slowly brewing tea with a kyusu teapot. Watching the leaves gently unfurl—it feels deeper than any puzzle game I’ve ever played.
It’s a world of astringency and umami, different from matcha—but just as captivating.
Favorite Food:
Katsu curry.
A golden, crispy cutlet floating in a sea of spicy curry—that’s art, in my book.
The first time I had it, I thought, “Whoever invented this is a genius.”
Even now, it's my go-to victory meal whenever I level up in life.
Recent Struggle:
A Burger King opened in my neighborhood.
Yes... it happened. And now the scent of flame-grilled temptation haunts my evening walks.
More than once, I’ve found myself mysteriously holding a Whopper Jr. meal.
I suppose life’s quest is full of clever little traps like this one.
Adventure from 30 Years Ago:
Cross-country trip on a Greyhound bus.
In my youth, I crossed the United States from New York with just a backpack.
As vast landscapes passed by outside the window, I pondered life, games, and everything in between.
...Or at least, that’s what I tell people.
Truth is, I mostly slept on the bus.
My Origin Story:
A dream I had in 5th grade.
Recently, I found my old elementary school yearbook. In it, my dream for the future read:
"I want to be a video game teacher."
I had completely forgotten.
But apparently, even as a kid, I wanted to teach and share things with others.
To guide them.
To hand them the “strategy guide” for life through games.
That little classroom I dreamed of has taken shape, in a way—
in the form of this online store.
Maybe... I haven’t changed much after all.
This is me.
And I hope you’ll continue to enjoy the journey with me.
