Welcome to the exhibit for a device that fundamentally changed Famicom gaming: the Famicom Disk System. This peripheral, with its iconic yellow floppy disks, introduced something revolutionary to the console world: the ability to save your progress.

This single feature unlocked the door for a new genre of vast, epic adventures that were simply impossible before. Without the Disk System, we would not have the sprawling worlds of The Legend of Zelda or the claustrophobic depths of Metroid. It also offered games at a lower price point via the "Disk Writer" kiosks, making gaming more accessible. This is a tribute to the quirky, innovative add-on that gave birth to some of the greatest legends in video game history.
