Max stands frozen before an unfamiliar machine, with no idea how to use it. The No-Manual General appears and declares, with great drama, 'There is no manual.'

But the twist: the General has forgotten how to use his own powers, too -- because nobody wrote him a manual either. He flails about in a panic.

So the two of them simply mash every button together until, by sheer accident, it works. 'Practice beats reading,' Max grins. In this world there are no manuals -- everyone learns by fumbling. And failure is the best teacher of all.
