About the games:
Donkey Kong 2 (1995 JP, “Super Donkey Kong 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest”) — Faster, bolder, darker. Pirate ships creak, storms howl, and Dixie’s ponytail spin gives you the power to laugh at gravity itself. Rare built this sequel under strict secrecy in the UK countryside—even Nintendo’s Kyoto staff weren’t in the loop until nearly finished.
It sold about five million copies worldwide—not the phenomenon of the first game, but still an extraordinary success for a sequel. Marketing leaned into swashbuckling drama, with commercials that felt like movie trailers. And in schoolyards, Dixie became an icon—her spin jump was proudly adopted by kids, especially girls, who saw her as proof that Kong adventures weren’t just “for the boys.”
Donkey Kong 3 (1996 JP, “Super Donkey Kong 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble!”) — The winter coat of the trilogy. Waterfalls, snowbound forests, and a more exploratory pace. Some players felt it slower than its predecessors, but that was deliberate—Rare wanted a “final act” with more hidden paths and puzzle-like stages.
It still sold around 3.5 million copies worldwide, which is astonishing given that the N64 was already stealing headlines. Advertisements highlighted its brighter graphics and tag-team of Dixie & Kiddy, though some fans joked Kiddy looked more like “Donkey Kong’s nephew from the suburbs.” Yet in fan clubs and gaming magazines, debates raged: was it underrated genius or the odd one out? Either way, the cultural memory stuck—DKC3 is remembered as the swan song of the Super Famicom’s prime.
Why these two together:
One game raised the stakes with cinematic swashbuckling; the other closed the curtain with puzzles and snowy landscapes. Together, they’re the final chapters of Rare’s 16-bit saga—bold, playful, and still sparking arguments decades later.
Play it worldwide:

What We Did Before This Ships
Every console we sell is opened up and serviced by hand.
We don't just confirm it powers on — we look inside.
- This unit was fully disassembled and cleaned internally; dust was removed from all components.
- All boards and electrical contacts were cleaned with ethanol and a fast-drying, residue-free electronics cleaner to remove oxidation and residue.
- Moving mechanical parts were lubricated with a light application of silicone grease for smooth, quiet operation. (We do not apply grease to electrical contacts — they are cleaned only.)
- Electrolytic capacitors are replaced only when there is visible corrosion or leakage — nothing more, nothing less. For console families known for capacitor failure, a full recap is performed as standard.
- If a console cannot be properly restored, we do not sell it.
- After reassembly, the unit is tested with an actual game: video, sound, and controller input are all confirmed.
- Before we seal the box, we power the console on one more time and confirm it is still working.
- Every console includes 30 days of support after it reaches you.
A note on power: this console uses Japan's 100V standard. Buyers in North America (120V) are advised to use a step-down transformer or a multi-voltage power supply; buyers in Europe (230V) will require a step-down transformer to use an original 100V adapter safely.
A note on region: This is a Japanese Super Famicom. Its cartridge slot accepts the rounded Japanese/PAL cartridge shape; North American SNES cartridges are physically taller and will not fit without modification. Japanese and PAL software share the same physical format, but use different region-lockout chips (CIC) and are not cross-compatible.
If anything here isn't covered, just ask — questions are always welcome.
