What's in the Box
Always included: 1x Famicom console (HVC-001) modified for AV output, 1x Disk System drive (HVC-022) with a new drive belt, and 1x RAM Adapter. The AV cable is already attached to the console.
USB power cables (your choice above): one for the Famicom, one for the Disk System, both, or none. Each cable plugs into a USB charger or power bank, like the one for your phone (the charger itself is not included).
Games (your choice above): no game, a mystery game, or a named game set. Every named game set comes with both power cables.
Why the AV version? The original Famicom only sends its picture over an analog antenna (RF) signal, which most TVs today can no longer tune in. This Famicom has been modified for AV output, so picture and sound go through AV (composite) jacks and plug straight into the AV input of your TV. No channel hunting, and a clearer picture than RF.
Why the Disk System? Because here is a chapter of history the West rarely saw. The Famicom Disk System is where The Legend of Zelda and Metroid were born — Nintendo experimenting boldly with rewritable disks. One console plays both the cartridge library and the disk library. — The shopkeeper, Enjoy Game Japan
What We Did Before It Ships
New drive belt in every Disk System: the rubber belt inside the drive is the part that wears out and stops disks from loading. We replace it with a brand-new belt in every Disk System we sell, so your disk games load smoothly.
Tested: the console, the Disk System and the games in your set are all tested before they ship.
Cleaned by hand: each unit is carefully cleaned before it is packed.
Power depends on your selection: USB power cables are optional. When you add them, use a suitable USB charger or power bank (not included); no step-down transformer is needed for that USB setup. If you choose Not Included, you must provide compatible power for both the Famicom and the Disk System.
30-day defect guarantee: every order is covered by our 30-day defect guarantee.
The Game Options
Mystery games: we pick the game at random — a Famicom cartridge, a Disk System disk, or one of each, depending on your choice. A good way to start playing the day your console arrives.
Super Mario 4 Games: Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2 (on disk) and Super Mario Bros. 3.
Donkey Kong 3 Games: Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. and Donkey Kong 3.
4 Games: Mega Man (Rockman), Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong Jr. and Balloon Fight.
1 Disk Game: choose one disk — Tennis, Volleyball, Exciting Baseball, Ice Hockey, Ultraman (Kaiju Teikoku no Gyakushu), Moero TwinBee, Green Beret, Super Mario Bros. or Super Mario Bros. 2.
Honest Condition
Used: each Famicom console and Disk System may show cosmetic wear such as scuffs, scratches or discoloration from normal use.
Not included: the original box and manual of the console and the Disk System.
Japanese versions: this is a Japanese-spec console (NTSC-J), and the games are the Japanese Famicom releases.
Super Mario Bros. disk: this one is a rewritten disk, not a first-press copy.
🎮 Add a game — it travels in the same box as your console.
📷 Please note: the photos are representative samples. As these are pre-owned vintage items, the exact unit you receive may vary slightly in cosmetic condition but will be in comparable, tested condition.
What You Will Actually Pay
Nothing appears later that is not listed here.
This listing — from $140.45 to $286.24, depending on the option you choose above.
Shipping — free above $100 to most countries. Every option here is above that line. Below it, shipping from Japan is $19.00. Two exceptions. Shipping to the United States is $19.00 on every order. Shipping to Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Peru is $49.99 on every order, because shipping to South America costs far more. The exact figure for your address appears at checkout, before you pay.
Import duties and taxes. Not included in the price and not collected at checkout — for every country, including the United States. Your country’s customs decides the amount, and the carrier will ask you to pay it before or at delivery. The carrier may also charge its own fee for handling customs. Rules differ by country and can change, so we can’t tell you the exact amount in advance. If a carrier ever presents a charge that looks wrong, send us the paperwork and we will look into it with you.
It leaves Japan within 1–3 business days of your payment, with a tracking number sent to you by email.
How long until it reaches you. We ship from Aichi, in central Japan. Orders to the United States go by FedEx and usually arrive in about a week — a typical time, not a guarantee, since a customs check can add days. For other countries the time depends on the destination and its customs. Your tracking number lets you follow the parcel the whole way.
TV (AV output): this Famicom connects to the AV (composite) input of your TV, so you do not need an analog channel. TVs in PAL countries such as the UK, Europe or Australia need to accept an NTSC picture through that input. Most recent TVs do, but please check yours.
WHAT FAMICOM DISK SYSTEM BUYERS TOLD US
“Finally have the chance to talk about this. Packaging was very well done: the seller clearly cared about the console enough and I appreciate that. It came as described, so I'm very happy. Finally it shipped relatively quickly. Overall, I'm very happy. It works very well on a modern monitor and it is about what I expected from an older console. I enjoy the older, retro consoles. I also enjoyed was the little flyer that came with it. It's nice to see old game shops thriving in Japan.”— verified Famicom Disk System buyer, 2026-08-16
“The console arrived safely and in excellent time thanks to great packaging and shipping. It's exactly as described and looks great. Seller went out of their way to update me on shipping and show me the console working, and was all around incredibly kind and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended!”— verified Famicom Disk System buyer, 2026-06-19
