One machine. Two worlds. The only console that ever fused the Famicom and its Disk System into a single body.
In 1986, while the rest of Japan plugged their Famicoms into the back of the television through a hiss of RF static, Sharp asked a bolder question: what if one machine could do it all — and do it beautifully? Under licence from Nintendo, Sharp's engineers poured two machines into one elegant body: the Family Computer and the Famicom Disk System, sharing a single heart. Drop a cartridge into the top, or a Disk Card below, and watch it come through clean AV video — sharp, steady, the way games were always meant to look.
This was never just hardware. It was two of Japan's proudest companies pooling their craft into one confident object — the kind of machine a country builds when it truly believes games are worth doing right. Nearly forty years on, that belief is still humming inside it.
Time is unkind to the Twin Famicom. Its Disk drive belt stretches and tires, and most you will find today can no longer load a single Disk Card. Not this one. Each unit here was opened by hand here in Japan, cleaned inside and out, and fitted with a brand-new Japanese-made drive belt — so the Disk System spins back to life the very moment it reaches you.
Here it stands in three of its faces — the deep red AN-500R, the AN-500B, and the black AN-505-BK with its rapid-fire turbo controller. Choose the one that is yours.

This is a Japanese (NTSC-J) console designed for 100V. A step-down voltage converter may be required depending on your country.

The AN-505-BK controller features a turbo (rapid-fire) function. The AN-500R and AN-500B controllers do not feature a turbo (rapid-fire) function.

The Twin Famicom combines the functions of the original Family Computer (Famicom) and Famicom Disk System into a single video-output-capable console, allowing you to enjoy both Famicom game cartridges and Disk Cards on one system.
Due to age, many Twin Famicom consoles develop worn or stretched drive belts, which can prevent Disk System games from loading properly. On this unit, the drive belt has already been professionally replaced, allowing you to enjoy Disk System games immediately upon arrival.
Each item has been carefully cleaned and maintained by our technicians in Japan. Genuine Japanese product, shipped directly from Japan with care.
What We Did Before This Ships
Every console we sell is opened up and serviced by hand. We don't just confirm it powers on — we look inside.
This unit was fully disassembled and cleaned internally; dust was removed from all components.
All boards and electrical contacts were cleaned with ethanol and a fast-drying, residue-free electronics cleaner to remove oxidation and residue.
Moving mechanical parts were lubricated with a light application of silicone grease for smooth, quiet operation. (We do not apply grease to electrical contacts — they are cleaned only.)
Electrolytic capacitors are replaced only when there is visible corrosion or leakage — nothing more, nothing less. For console families known for capacitor failure, a full recap is performed as standard.
If a console cannot be properly restored, we do not sell it.
After reassembly, the unit is tested with an actual game: video, sound, and controller input are all confirmed.
Before we seal the box, we power the console on one more time and confirm it is still working.
Every console includes 30 days of support after it reaches you.
A note on power: this console uses Japan's 100V standard. Buyers in North America (120V) are advised to use a step-down transformer or a multi-voltage power supply; buyers in Europe (230V) will require a step-down transformer to use an original 100V adapter safely.
A note on region: This is a Japanese Sharp Twin Famicom. It combines the Famicom and the Famicom Disk System in one unit, and accepts all standard Famicom cartridges and Disk System titles. North American NES cartridges (72-pin) are not compatible without an adapter, as the Twin Famicom uses the same 60-pin connector as the original Famicom.
