This is the PlayStation 2 Ocean Blue Edition—a console that looked like it had just surfaced from the digital depths. Released in Japan in 2002, this transparent sapphire shell celebrated the PS2’s dominance with a touch of cool confidence.

About this unit

The console has scuffs and light surface scratches from normal use.
Includes one controller with slight wear.
Comes with a power adapter, official AV connection cable, an 8MB memory card, and a vertical stand (shows scuffs).

What We Did Before This Ships

Every console we sell is opened up and serviced by hand.
We don't just confirm it powers on — we look inside.

  • This unit was fully disassembled and cleaned internally; dust was removed from all components.
  • All boards and electrical contacts were cleaned with ethanol and a fast-drying, residue-free electronics cleaner to remove oxidation and residue.
  • Moving mechanical parts were lubricated with a light application of silicone grease for smooth, quiet operation. (We do not apply grease to electrical contacts — they are cleaned only.)
  • Electrolytic capacitors are replaced only when there is visible corrosion or leakage — nothing more, nothing less. For console families known for capacitor failure, a full recap is performed as standard.
  • If a console cannot be properly restored, we do not sell it.
  • After reassembly, the unit is tested with an actual game: video, sound, and controller input are all confirmed.
  • Before we seal the box, we power the console on one more time and confirm it is still working.
  • Every console includes 30 days of support after it reaches you.

A note on power: this console uses Japan's 100V standard. Buyers in North America (120V) are advised to use a step-down transformer or a multi-voltage power supply; buyers in Europe (230V) will require a step-down transformer to use an original 100V adapter safely.

A note on region: This is a Japanese PlayStation 2 (NTSC-J). It is region-locked for both PS2 and PS1 software. DVD movie playback is also region-locked (DVD Region 2 for Japan). North American discs (Region 1 DVDs; NTSC-U/C games) and PAL titles will not play without modification.
