Around the time the Famicom had established the new culture of gaming in Japanese homes, another console appeared like a comet, bringing a new shock to us all: the PC Engine.
The company that made this was NEC. For the children of Japan at that time, that name was like a magic word. NEC, who reigned as the "King of Personal Computers" with immense trust, had made a home video game console. That alone was a major, heart-pounding event.
I still remember the excitement I felt at the futuristic form of this little white box when I first saw it. It was a sophisticated design that set it apart from all previous consoles. Above all, the beauty of its graphics and the power of its sound were, in a word, shocking.
This PC Engine must have been treasured by its previous owner. While the console shows some slight yellowing and scuffs from age, I have polished it piece by piece with care, aiming to bring it as close to its original condition as possible. When you hold it in your hands, that old sense of excitement should come rushing back.
This set includes the console, a controller, and a compatible third-party AC adapter. Even with just these, it is more than enough to experience the new world of gaming that the PC Engine opened up.
The "future of gaming" that we dreamed of back then is now in the palm of your hand. Please, awaken those timeless memories once more with this PC Engine.

Each console we deliver is carefully maintained, one by one, so that you can enjoy it for as long as possible, and with peace of mind.
The exterior is cleaned with care to restore as much of its original shine as possible. The internal board and connector pins are also inspected and cleaned to ensure proper operation.
This is not just a used item. It is a special machine, serviced with my own memories and my best wishes for its next owner.

This is a used, tested, and fully functional Japanese game console.
Please note: It is compatible with NTSC-J (Japan) format only. Cable (RF switch), instruction manual, and box are not included.
The console shows scuffs, scratches, and slight yellowing in some areas due to age.
The controller has visible scuffs and surface marks from normal use.
A third-party (non-official) power adapter is included.

What We Did Before This Ships
Every console we sell is opened up and serviced by hand.
We don't just confirm it powers on — we look inside.
- This unit was fully disassembled and cleaned internally; dust was removed from all components.
- All boards and electrical contacts were cleaned with ethanol and a fast-drying, residue-free electronics cleaner to remove oxidation and residue.
- Moving mechanical parts were lubricated with a light application of silicone grease for smooth, quiet operation. (We do not apply grease to electrical contacts — they are cleaned only.)
- Electrolytic capacitors are replaced only when there is visible corrosion or leakage — nothing more, nothing less. For console families known for capacitor failure, a full recap is performed as standard.
- If a console cannot be properly restored, we do not sell it.
- After reassembly, the unit is tested with an actual game: video, sound, and controller input are all confirmed.
- Before we seal the box, we power the console on one more time and confirm it is still working.
- Every console includes 30 days of support after it reaches you.
A note on power: this console uses Japan's 100V standard. Buyers in North America (120V) are advised to use a step-down transformer or a multi-voltage power supply; buyers in Europe (230V) will require a step-down transformer to use an original 100V adapter safely.
A note on region: This is a Japanese PC Engine (or CoreGrafx / PC Engine GT). Japanese PC Engine HuCards are not compatible with North American TurboGrafx-16 HuCards — NEC reversed the data bit order between regions (D0 on the PC Engine corresponds to D7 on the TurboGrafx-16), creating functional incompatibility. A region-mod or adapter is required to play TG-16 HuCards on this unit.
