Title: Before Saving the World, First, Make 'Em Laugh.

Hello, it's the shopkeeper.

In a world filled with games about slaying dragons and saving the universe... don't you ever just feel like putting your feet up and having a good laugh over something completely absurd? If you're in that sort of mood today, this single HuCard might just be your new best friend.

What we have here is one of the PC Engine's early masterpieces (or perhaps, master-peculiarities?), the adventure game Sadakichi Seven. Our hero is not a globetrotting spy... but an "apprentice" with a license to kill, working for the Osaka Chamber of Commerce. His enemy is not an evil empire bent on world domination... but the secret society 'NATTO', whose terrifying goal is to "put natto (fermented soybeans) on the dinner table of every person in the Kansai region!"

...Yes, I questioned my own ears the first time I heard it, too.

This game isn't about mowing down enemies. It's about navigating a world buzzing with the thick Kansai dialect, using wonderfully human commands like "Make 'em laugh," "Praise," and "Whack 'em" to solve a grand (?) case involving a famous shogun's hidden treasure.

Life is full of problems that can't be solved by force. This game gently teaches us: "Instead of getting serious, why not try to make the other person laugh first? You might be surprised to find a new path forward."

Of course, picking the wrong command over and over and getting absolutely nowhere is also part of its charm.

About the Item's Condition: This offering is for the HuCARD (the game card) only. The original case and manual seem to have been lost long ago, perhaps in a fierce battle with the NATTO syndicate. However, the silly yet endearing story engraved on this card is alive and well. It has been tested and is ready for its next mission.

A Friendly Warning: A great deal of patience and a broad-minded appreciation for Kansai-style humor are required to fully enjoy this title.

So tonight, why not take a short break from saving the world and dive into a ridiculous case with Sadakichi the apprentice?
