What You Will Actually Pay

Nothing appears later that is not listed here.

The item — $525.99. That is the price on this page.
Shipping — free to most countries. Any order of $100 or more that includes a console ships free, and this console is already above that — games you add ride along free too. One exception. Shipping to Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Peru is $49.99 on every order, because shipping to South America costs far more. The exact figure for your address appears at checkout, before you pay.
Import duties and taxes. Not included in the price and not collected at checkout — for every country, including the United States. Your country’s customs decides the amount, and the carrier will ask you to pay it before or at delivery. The carrier may also charge its own fee for handling customs. Rules differ by country and can change, so we can’t tell you the exact amount in advance. If a carrier ever presents a charge that looks wrong, send us the paperwork and we will look into it with you.

We have one of these. It is the unit in the photographs above — not a stock image, and not one of several.

It leaves Japan within 1–3 business days of your payment, with a tracking number sent to you by email.

How long until it reaches you. We ship from Aichi, in central Japan, by Sagawa Express (UPS), or Japan Post for small parcels. Orders to the United States usually arrive in about 3–7 business days after they leave Japan, and to the EU and UK in about 4–8 — a typical time, not a guarantee, since a customs check can add days. Your tracking number lets you follow the parcel the whole way.

If anything is still unclear — the plug, the voltage, how the box really looks in daylight — ask me before you buy, or Browse more VIRTUAL BOY →

FAQ

Will it work in my country?

Power is 100 V (Japan). It generally works in 110–120 V regions; for 220–240 V regions, use a step-down transformer. Video is NTSC-J composite. See our Country Guide for details.

What video outputs can I use?

The console outputs NTSC-J composite by default. With the Nintendo multi-out you can also use RGB or S-Video if your cable and display/upscaler support it (cables not included unless noted).

Will it work on a modern HDTV?

Many TVs still accept composite. For best results, use a compatible upscaler (e.g., RetroTINK/OSSC) with the correct cable for your setup.

Shipping, taxes, and delivery time

Can you bundle items or combine shipping?

Yes—add items to cart and check out together. If you need a custom bundle (e.g., console + specific games), message us.

Can I return an item if I change my mind?

Yes. You can return an item within 30 days of delivery, even if you simply changed your mind. You pay the return shipping cost. Please check the photos of the exact item before you buy if the look matters to you.
